Gather the Spark does not claim ownership of the ideas or materials you create on the platform. However, an invention is not legally protected simply because it was created or saved here. Patent rights, trademarks, and other protections depend on formal filings and whether similar rights already exist. We encourage inventors to speak with a qualified patent professional before publicly sharing or investing heavily in an idea.

How are professionals vetted?

Service providers are reviewed before appearing on Gather the Spark, so inventors can connect with professionals who are relevant to the invention process. We check credentials and past work, and confirm identity before they can bid on jobs.

Is my idea private?

Yes. Invention names are not publicly revealed in live activity, and every conversation with a service provider is covered by NDA from the first message. View logs are kept so you can see exactly who has accessed what.

How is the GTS database scan different from a patent search?

The GTS database scan compares your invention against ideas already on the platform. It is a useful early signal, but its scope is limited to GTS — it is not a substitute for a formal patent or prior-art search by a qualified attorney.

Can I collaborate with other inventors?

Yes. You can reach out to inventors working on adjacent ideas. A common path is teaming up with someone working on a similar idea and bringing it to life together.

How are credits spent?
